A beautiful sunset at my first Fort Bottom campsite - 12 miles down stream from my departure point in Labyrinth Canyon. The wind and currents were favorable the first day so I soon arrived at my first stop and had the place all to myself. I tied my canoe to a tamarisk (*) and set out to explore. * Tamarisk also known as salt cedar is an exotic invasive alien brought here from Eurasia or Africa. It has become a curse in southwestern streams and rivers.
